Double Murder Suspect Arrested

Akron police have made an arrest in connection with a double murder on Grant Street in December.

On December 15th, police say 29-year-old Dawud El Spaulding first shot at a man outside a home in the 1100 block of Grant Street, leaving the victim in serious condition.

He then returned to the home later in the day and shot and killed Erica Singleton, 28, of Tallmadge and Ernest Thomas, 31, of Akron.

Spaulding has been charged with felonious assault, attempted murder and two counts of aggravated murder.
