A two year old toddler is in critical condition at Akron Children's Hospital with severe brain injuries, and his father is in jail.

Around 10 Friday night, Akron Police responded to a call for the unresponsive child. He was found on the couch unresponsive by his mother, who had just returned home from work. The baby was being cared for by his father.

48-year old Eddie Haskins Jr. of West Cedar Street faces charges of felonious assault and felony child endangering.

Police are providing no further details at this time.
