Authorities have made an arrest in connection with the shooting death of a 24-year-old man in Akron over the weekend.

The Akron Police Department and the U.S. Marshals’ Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Anthony T. Hill Jr., 20, of Akron, after following up on a tip and hours of surveillance.

Hill was found outside a home on East Avenue around 6 p.m. 

Richard A. Coryell was shot and killed early Saturday morning during a fight in the parking lot of Old Haunts Tavern on East Market Street.

Hill has been charged with murder and felonious assault. He is scheduled for an arraignment hearing in Akron Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
