Akron Man Arrested After High-Speed Chase

An Akron man was arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase in a stolen car early Saturday morning.

Jackson Township police said Jeremy R. Harper, 32, of Akron, drove off in a stolen car at a Marathon gas station on Wales Avenue NW around 3 a.m.

According to police, Harper was traveling nearly 100 miles per hour as he led officers on a chase into Akron.

He was arrested shortly after he abandoned the car near the intersection of Litchfield Road and Pilgrim Street.

Harper has been charged with grand theft auto, failure to comply and theft.
