Akron Detectives Investigate Double Shooting

A double shooting in Akron early Sunday morning has opened up an investigation.

Akron detectives say it happened around 1 a.m. in the 1000 block of Johnston Street.

The first victim was found lying on the ground near Johnston Street and Gibbs Place. He was shot in the torso and was transported to Akron City Hospital.

The second victim, a 16-year-old male, was found near Johnston Street and Downing Place with a gunshot wound to his shoulder. He was transported to Akron General Medical Center.

Neither victim suffered life threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as light complexioned, black male, 20 – 24 years old, 5’10” – 5’11”, 145 – 160 lbs. He was wearing a red shirt and dark blue jeans.
