The man accused of murdering a cab driver in New Franklin was arraigned in Summit County Common Pleas Court on Friday.

27 year-old Raul Benitez-Maranon pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder and murder charges in the shooting death of 61 year-old cab driver Jerry Laury of Canton last month.

Benitez-Maranon had appeared earlier in Barberton Municipal Court, and was bound over to Summit County.

Bond was re-set at $500,000 cash.

But even if someone managed to raise that bond money, Benitez-Maranon wouldn't be a free man - court officials say there's also a hold on him by federal immigration officials.

Benitez-Maranon is in the Summit County Jail.
