Cuyahoga Falls Mayor Don Robart says he's not worried if the developers of the Portage Crossings keep their promise of announcing who will move into the Shopping Center by Labor Day.
At a City Council meeting two months ago, shopping center developers told members and Mayor Robart that they had planned an announcement close to Labor Day on who would move in. The developers are planning to announce the names of the businesses that will be moving in on the sign in front of the development,
Mayor Robart says he's more concerned about the finished product at Portage Crossings, how it will look to shoppers and how many Cuyahoga Falls residents will shop there. The Mayor said the shopping center will be important to the economic future of Cuyahoga Falls for many, many years.
Appearing on the 1590 WAKR Ray Horner Morning Show, Mayor Robart said he heard two months ago that developers had commitments from 12 to 15 businesses. Mayor Robart says he expects the Portage Crossings Shopping Center will be home to 25 businesses when finished.
