UPDATE Natural Gas Leak On Akron's West Side

The issue with the leak has been resolved. No one was injured and traffic has been reopened at N. Hawkins from West Market to the North.

Earlier Story:

Police have evacuated homes and buisnesses in and around the 1600 block of Garman Rd due to a natural gas leak.

No word on what caused the leak. APD is closing N. Hawkins from Market to the North.

No through traffic no pedestrian traffic.This includes Hawkins & Bryden; Hawkins & Wiltshire, Hawkins & Garman, and W. Market & Bryden

Akron Fire and HAZMAT crews are on the scene.
