A family of six escaped an early morning house fire in Bath Township. Firefighters were called to the burning home shortly before midnight on the 2400 block of Farmstead Road.
One man was injured while trying to get his wife and four children out of the house; he was taken to a local hospital along with four others. Damages estimated at $125,000.

(Bath Township Fire Department) On February 14th, 2012 at 11:34 pm Bath Fire Department had a residential fire at 2485 Farmstead Road.
The residence was occupied by 6 family members. Bath Fire Department with 5 apparatus and automatic response from Richfield Fire Department and Fairlawn Fire Department responded with 23 personnel to the residence. The fire was located on the back porch and mechanical room of the home. All family members had evacuated the home at the time of the arrival of the fire department. Five of the family members were transported to the hospital for medical evaluation.
The fire was extinguished with 120 gallons of water. The fire caused substantial damage to the exterior of the home and the mechanical room in the basement, the remainder of the home sustained smoke damage through out. The damage is estimated at approximately $125,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the fire department and the insurance company.
No injuries were sustained by any fire service personnel.
