VIDEO Vacant House Fire Damages Neighboring Akron Home

Fire officials are investigating a vacant house fire that caused damage to a neighboring Akron home late Tuesday night.

News Channel 5 reports the fire happened shortly before midnight on the corner of West Thornton Street and Norka Street.

The vacant house fire caused significant damage to the home next door. A mother and her three children lived inside the home. They were able to safely escape the fire and call 911.

The woman told NewsChannel 5 that the house had been vacant for about six months.

No injuries were reported.
