A playground in Green is closed until further notice after officials found ticks on a slide near the restrooms at Boettler Park.
The entire play structure is being treated with pesticides to ensure visitor safety.
"When its on a playset like that we will do whatever we can to enhance the safety for our residents says Valerie Wolford, communications coordinator for the city of Green.
According to the Ohio Department of Health, tick borne diseases include Ehrlichiosis, Lyme Disease, and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.
To protect yourself against ticks, use repellents containing DEET and always follow label directions, wear light colored clothes, long-sleeve shirts and long pants and stay indoors during dawn and dusk.
