A winter weather advisory will be in effect from 4:00 p.m. today until 12:00 p.m. Wednesday.
Weather Channel Meteorologist Tony Jackson says there is a low pressure system bringing warmer air from the Gulf of Mexico that will meet colder conditions from the northwest. We can expect rain or slushy snow until late in the afternoon, then the temperature drops below freezing.
"So as we head through the evening, we'll see maybe one to four inches accumulated as we head into the overnight," said Jackson.
Jackson says computer models indicate that up to five inches of snow could hit the ground by noon tomorrow.
Jackson says the weather system will move out, but Lake Effect snow is expected to follow. Jackson says some snow activity is possible every day through the weekend. It's unclear at this time how much accumulation to expect in the Akron area from Lake Erie.
