Parents and children are invited to attend the The 2nd annual Summit for Kids at John S. Knight Center for a day of fun and family activity.

Executive Director of Summit County Children's Services John Saros says there's going to be a lot of free services for those who participate.

"This year, we will have free immunizations, free dental services for ages 3-6, free back to school physicals, and  free back packs filled with school supplies," he said.

Admission is free and the program runs from 10 a.m. to 4p.m Saturday.

In addition to all of the free services, Saros says the kids who attend get to meet some very special guests.

"We'll have Spider-Man from Marvel Entertainment, we're going to have Scooby-Doo & Shaggy and a whole host of others for the kids to meet and  greet and just have a good time."

The Summit for Kids is a National award winning program that brings together area businesses organizations and agencies that focus on children programming, health, education, activities and entertainment.

Saros says that due to the tough economy, children need the services offered at the Summit For Kids more than ever.

Our numbers in terms of poverty are increasing as far as children in Summit County and throughout the state," he said.

"With these services being offered , it's become increasingly more important to get these kids and their families the things they need."

It is advised to get to there early as more than 9,000 people are expected to attend.

John Saros, Executive Director with Summit County Children's Services says he's looking forward to having all the families come in and enjoy themselves.

"It's going to be a fun-filled day for these kids and their families, and we're just glad to be having this program for them."
