Akron Crimes 11/6/2009 1:34:28 PM | Tina Kaufmann, AkronNewsNow.com An unlocked Akron home enticed armed burglars on Avon Street around 5:30 p.m. Thursday. advertisement But once inside, they got quite a surprise. The homeowner and two friends threw a chair at them before tackling one to the floor and hitting him with a baseball bat. The residents held him at the home until police arrived. Erick May, 19, was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary, robbery and more. After May is released from the hospital, he'll be booked in jail. The second suspect got away. He's said to be a black teen over 6-feet tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The ordeal all happened with a little child present. In an unrelated incident, employees and patrons of Georgio's Zoo, a bar on Brittain Road, reported two armed men entered the bar and ordered everyone to empty their pockets. The two black men fled with a small amount of cash. Police are looking for the two 25-30 year olds, one 5'8" tall, the other 6-foot tall, wearing dark hooded sweatshirts. Content © AkronNewsNow.com.
