Sunday beginning at 8pm, and seen in 200 countries, either Nik Wallenda will have the most public suicide in history or make history by walking a high wire extending over a canyon deeper than the height of New York’s Empire State Building. Oh, did we mention he will do this WITHOUT A HARNESS?!
You can see the performance on DStv’s Discovery Channel. Let's hope he does well. Remember Nik? He was the one who walked across Niagara Falls last year, but the network (so he tells us) insisted on a harness. Discovery is not so squeamish and Mr Wallenda is going for it!

A family in Thailand literally had a newborn baby left on their doorstep -- by none other than their own dog. The parents' 12-year-old daughter heard the dog barking, and when she went to see what all the noise was about, she saw a white plastic bag -- and found a newborn baby girl inside of it with her umbilical cord still attached. The dog rescued this poor abandoned baby and brought her home -- almost like he instinctively knew his family would be able to help her. The girl immediately ran to get her parents, who rushed the baby to the hospital. Now the parents want to adopt the baby. (picture not that of this story-but ain't they cute?)

Tribe Communications Chief Curtis Danburg issued this statement in an email on Saturday afternoon.
Tribe fans:
Thank you to all those who endured the rain delays from Friday night’s (May 31st) series opener against the Tampa Bay Rays at Progressive Field.
For those who were unable to remain at the ballpark, we apologize for the inconvenience of the delays and subsequent re-start of the game after midnight.
There was a multitude of extenuating circumstances that led to what we recognize was a challenging experience for our fans:
¨ At the time of last night’s game, there was considerable uncertainty within the remainder of this weekend’s weather forecast
¨ Last night’s weather forecast continually changed throughout the evening leading to the unfortunate after midnight re-start
¨ Our ability to play at a future date was limited by two factors of significance: Tampa Bay does not return to Progressive Field in 2013 and as outlined within the terms of the basic agreement there are no viable mutual off days in the future to reschedule
We value each and every one of our fans. We want to thank the fans that did stay for some or all of the game for their loyalty, patience and perseverance. Our fans were incredible last night.
While we did our best to ensure that those who stayed had a great experience, we realize that the weather related circumstances from Friday’s game presented difficulties for many fans to have a memorable ballpark experience.
We are always looking to provide our fans the best experience possible at Progressive Field and in the near future reach out to last night’s fans to make it right.
Thank you and Go Tribe!

Falling down across her arms ...Hiding all the lady's charms. BTW, the village of Coventry agreed to keep their shutters closed all except for one curious fellow. He decided to peep and his name? Life is tough in Vietnam, but for the folks in this Hanoi market at 4pm and 7pm, a train makes its way down a street so narrow that it is just inches from the houses on either side. Call Charles Ramsey a hero. Call him a viral video sensation. Just don't call him a hamburger. Ramsey, the Cleveland man who early this month put down his hamburger to help free three kidnapped women and a little girl from a decadelong captivity, has been immortalized with his own burger. Hodge's, a local restaurant where Ramsey worked as a dishwasher, named an eight-ounce, $12 burger for Mr. Ramsey. But an intellectual property lawyer speaking for Ramsey said he "wants everyone to know that he does not endorse the consortium of Northeast Ohio restaurants who are offering 'Ramsey Burgers' or who are promoting that Ramsey can receive free burgers from them for life. Ramsey encourages people to do things that will help the victims." Ramsey said in a statement: "I never told these people they could use my name for this."
