Around midnight last night, the McDonald’s Restaurant on Romig Road, was robbed at gunpoint. The employees reported as they were closing the restaurant, they were confronted in the parking lot by five suspects armed with handguns. The robbers forced the employees back into the restaurant and demanded money. They fled with an unreported amount of cash and the victims’ cell phones.
The suspects are five black males, 18 – 22 years old.

Another weekend and more shootings in Akron.
The first occured around 3 Sunday morning at the Play Pen Bar, in the 25-hundred block Romig Road. Akron Police report a large fight in the parking lot escalated into gunfire. After officers broke up several fights and arrested a couple of suspects, a 28 year old man showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim reported he was shot outside the Play Pen He was transported to the hospital by a friend. His injuries appear to be non-life threatening.
The victim did not have a description of the suspect. No arrests have been made. The shooting remains under investigation.
The second shooting happened around 4:30 Sunday morning at Vernon Odom Boulevard and Harmon Avenue where cops found a man shot in the chest. He is in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Detectives later learned the actual shooting happened at Vernon Odom and Frederick Boulevard.
No suspects have been identified or arrested.
