Two robbers who targeted a man using an ATM at South High and East Exchange Streets around 4 Saturday morning are probably regretting that decision. After the robbers took $240 from the victim, he decided to fight back.The suspects jumped into a vehicle and tried to flee the area, when the victim chased after the suspects. The victim broke out the rear passenger window of the suspect’s car and struggled with them over the money.
Akron Police Lieutenant Rick Edwards says the robbery victim held on for dear life and was even dragged a short distance by the robbers, until they pulled over and police officers arrived and arrested Lemario S. Knowles, 19, and Michael K. Allen Jr., 28, both of Cleveland. Knowles and Allen were charged with Robbery and booked into the Summit County Jail.
The victim was not injured.
