The school supply, personal care product, food and clothing giveaway and services LEAP fair, is almost here in Coventry Township.

LEAP is a time to step away from the regular church services and stand out in the community, to not turn away from the poverty right in our area, rather to make a difference in the lives of others who may be less fortunate and show them they are loved.
Pastor Brenda Young says the event served more than 1,000 people last year, "this year, I have no clue how big it will get, but I'm very excited about it."
Young details how huge and beneficial LEAP is for the communityFree lunch will also be served. Haircuts, vision screenings, Ask The Doctor health check-ups, free ultrasounds, legal advice, family programs, service sign ups, mammogram vouchers, utility and foreclosure referrals, applications for aid, jobs applications, screenings, free lunch, and a teddy bear picnic with free stuffed animals are some of the other things being offered for those in need who come to the event.
Church volunteers, at all levels, will be donating their time this week throughout the community, visiting nursing homes, doing minor home repairs, house cleaning, building projects, blood drives, park clean-ups and other services around the Greater Akron area.
