You can be someone’s hero!
Amelia Lincoln was 33 years old and thinking of starting a family with her husband James, of Stow, when she was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia, an aggressive cancer of the bone marrow on New Years Eve of 2009.
Amelia went through chemotherapy and -- using her own cells -- had a stem cell transplant in 2010 and was in remission for two years. But six weeks ago, the leukemia tragically returned to her system.
Now Amelia needs a life-saving transplant using cells from donors in the National Bone Marrow Registry.
You can help save Amelia, and others like her, by joining the National Bone Marrow Registry. Please join us on June 23rd from 11-5pm at Stow High School to register. Some health restrictions may apply.
Even if you can't donate marrow you can still help out by making a financial donation to the National Registry, as it costs the Registry about $100 to process each kit. To learn more about Amelia’s cause, please go to www.helpamelia.com
