(APS) has been awarded a $1.275 million Research and Development Investment Loan. advertisement "This expansion will bring new jobs to Akron and allow APS to expand its capacity in order to meet increasing customer demand," Coughlin said. "I applaud the efforts of state, local and company officials to keep high-tech companies like APS here in Ohio and providing them with the assistance they need to grow and succeed." APS has recently outgrown its current office and production spaces. The money approved today will be used for construction and site improvements at the company's new headquarters facility as well as the purchase of machinery, equipment and furniture. The total cost of this project is estimated at nearly $3.5 million. APS was founded in 2002 and focuses on the development and commercialization of technologies and products involving high-performance polymers.
