  Carrie Underwood is NYC Bound!

Going, going gone for Garth Brooks, Carrie preps for visit to New York City, LeAnn Womack says it's free and Julianne Hough gets another acting gig. Get the scoop on these stories inside The Nashville Minute.

No More -- Tickets for Garth Brooks first round of dates at the Wynn Encore Theater in Las Vegas have sold out. Tickets, which went on sale last Saturday, were gone within 5 hours of the ticket window opening. The resort's phone lines reached capacity of more than 140,000 calls and their website got more than 5.4 million page views, with 40,000 people waiting in an online queue at any given time. More concert dates will be announced soon.

Bite of the Apple -- Carrie Underwood will head to the Big Apple (New York City) for the November 3rd launch of her upcoming CD, Play On. Carrie's first stop will be with David Letterman (CBS) on November 2nd, and then performs in the Lincoln Center for Good Morning America (ABC) on November 3rd. She'll wrap up her visit on November 5th with a performance on Regis and Kelly (ABC).

It's Free -- Lee Ann Womack has started a free online club called the Country Music Appreciation Society and Social Club. Members get access to meet-and-greets but must abide by some rules, such as never using the phrase "country rocks," which nauseates her. Check it out at LeeAnnWomack.com.

And finally,

Roll that Film -- Julianne Hough has joined the cast of the upcoming movie Burlesque, which also stars singer Christina Aguilera. According to E! Online, the country star and former Dancing With the Stars pro will portray a fellow dancer in a Hollywood dance club owned by "Tess," played by Cher. The movie is said to be about female empowerment and is sexy, but tasteful. Rehearsals have already started and filming begins in November. It is tentatively scheduled for a Thanksgiving 2010 release.

And that is the Nashville Minute.

Scott Wynn keeps you up to date with all that is going on in Nashville with the on-air version of my Nashville Minute Blog every weekday morning around 6:40 a.m. and 8:40 a.m. on 94.9 WQMX!
