Rachel York Sings for Children's Hospital

Two shows Sunday, November 15th, this phenomenal performer graces the Akron/Summit Library Main stage downtown for a fabulous, intimate evening.

Broadway Sensation Rachel York is coming to Akron for two performances of her critically acclaimed solo performance, "For the Love of It!" Rachel delights the crowd with an evening of stories and song including favorites from the stage, screen, and American Songbook.

Ms. York has already had a remarkable acting career, including City of Angels, Les Miserables, Crucifer of Blood, Stephen Sondheim's Putting It Together (with Julie Andrews), Norma Cassidy in Victor/Victoria (for which she won a Drama Desk Award), Marguerite in The Scarlet Pimpernel, Lili Vanessi/Katharine in Kiss Me, Kate, Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes, Dorothy in Summer of '42, Miss Fancy in Sly Fox, Ruth Sutton in Dessa Rose, Mother in Ragtime, Christine Colgate in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and most recently in The Sound of Music at the Hollywood Bowl.

Rachel is one of the few actresses who have received rave reviews from notoriously picky New York critic John Simon.

Don't miss this exciting visit with one of the most accomplished stage and screen artists of our time.

Tickets for the matinee at 2:30 p.m. will cost $25 each. A ticket for the evening performance at 7:30 p.m.will cost $100 each and will include a dessert reception with the star after the concert.

All proceeds will benefit Akron Children's Hospital and Beth El Congregation.
